Summer's near and with it comes the first ever West Coast Dragon Roast!
What's a Dragon Roast?
Simply put, it's a gathering of Legend of the Green Dragon players and staff, in Real Life™! This 'tradition' was started three years ago by the staff on the Classic (a.k.a. Central) Server, who held the first one in Pennsylvania. Since then it's become somewhat of an annual event, though mainly among the folks in the Northeastern US.
Where is it?
This year brings an official Roast to the west side of the continent in Seattle, Washington.. Among the attendees will be our very own Pontifex Moonchilde and myself, your resident Drunkard! :)
When is it?
July 26th, 2008. We are planning a visit to Seattle's Science Fiction Museum, followed by a meal of some sort. After that, it will probably be played by ear. (suggestions include movies, other sight-seeing, video games, etc.)
So if you're in the area or planning on being in the vicinity that weekend, you're welcome to join us.. Be sure to stop by the forums and let us know!

There is another tattoo available to donators only, the Mystical Pentacle.
As normal, I won't tell you exactly what it does, but it does have something to do with death and dying. I'll leave it to you all to figure out the details :)

So, this morning I found out about this and I'm willing to give it a shot. It's interesting for a few reasons.
First, it's FDIC insured, unlike Paypal. Second, there are no fees on money transfer. So, I set up an account.
There are a few drawbacks as well. First is that it doesn't have an automated API like paypal, so if you donate to me via this link, I'll need to credit you manually. The address to send donations to is jtraub@dragoncat.net (of course). The second major drawback is that the service is US only at this time.
As an incentive, the site gives you $25.00 in your account just for signing up. Additionally, I'll give 1/2 again the donator points that you could get if you sent the money via paypal (IE, if you sign up and send me $10 you'd get 1500 donator points and still have $15.00 in your account.)
A quick clarification: This is not replacing Paypal for site donations, but I was pointing it out since it gave people who can and wanted to sign up some free money and I am all about PayPal having some competition :) At some point, if this becomes solid and has an automatic API, I might support fully automated donations via this *as well* as paypal :)
New Lodge purchase

I have created a new lodge purchase and changed one existing one (for anyone who purchases it in the future -- existing purchases aren't affected).
The new purchase is an 'Energy Potion'. This will grant the purchases one extra forest fight immediately. There is a small chance that no fight will be granted and a slightly larger chance that 2 (or possibly 3) fights will be granted. The cost for this potion is 30 donator points. If you are tired of getting stuck in a city that you don't want to be in when your fights run out -- THIS is the lodge buy for you!
The changed purchase is the more long-term forest fight option. This used to cost 100 points for 1 extra fight per game day for 30 days. I have changed it to 500 points for 1 extra fight for 25 days (ie, a cost of 20 points per fight to be in-line with the new energy potion above). This is cheaper because you're buying for the long-term rather than for the instant fix :)
Enjoy! There are a couple of other simple lodge buys coming in the near future as well.
